This image was much easier to take compared to my chipmunk images: patient trees and bushes. I remember exactly where I took this image: 5 min after crossing the Kootenay Lake on highway 3A to Nelson. It was so nice because the days before I had been looking for Indian Summer scenery but could not find any. The Rocky Mountains do not have much deciduous trees, at least on my route through them. Here are some other impressive fall foliage examples. This image was taken in Silverton,British Columbia at highway 6. As you can see the sky left me out in the rain but anyway the oaks are beautiful and it must be a real pleasure to live nearby. Panorama Maligne River, Rocky Mountains, Canada

If you visit the city of Jasper in the Rocky Mountains, you should definitely plan a trip to the Maligne Lake south-eastern of Jasper. Start early in the morning and you will find an incredible landscape on the way to the lake. If you are lucky, you will see mooses, too. More Details...
